Wisconsin Area Ghost Investigators Society

We were called upon to investigate our second home so far in Green Bay Wisconsin. No one in the family thought the place was haunted until one of the family members started researching the Wiccan religion and hung a feather from a string on the ceiling of her bedroom which would enable her to know when there was a spirit present. As the feather started to move on its own accord when no one was even in the room, that's when the suspicions started. The claims were that the feather would wildly move back and forth with its tip actually touching the ceiling. The student explained that the swinging of the feather meant that her protective spirit was with her in the room. That wasn't the worst of the tale. They could live with that. In fact, they even began to just ignore it. It wasn't until one morning, one of the girls, while sleeping in her basement bedroom was awakened by weird laughing coming from under her bed. She quickly called her other sister on the cell phone and told her to come down stairs to see what was under her bed. The other sister was afraid of nothing and didn't believe in the spirits being there at all. She saw nothing under the bed and didn't believe her sister heard anything. So they both started to head for the stairs when all of a sudden they both heard the cackling laugh come from behind them. They bolted up the stairs and refused to sleep down in the basement anymore. Of course this started to worry the mother for several reasons and together with the feeling of being watched in the laundry room they decided to contact us for help.

We arrived for the interview and set up our equipment. We tried to debunk all of the claims, most of which were easy to do, especially the feather. No matter what we did throughout the house; open the refrigerator, open and closed cabinet doors, house doors, we were able to get a response out of the feather so we concluded that anything could make the feather move at any given time and did not credit any spirit to the feather.

The laughing in the basement was basically impossible to debunk. Although the bedroom was located in an area where it was solid brick walls and you could barely hear any outside noise through the walls or windows, we couldn't say what it was that the girls heard. It is very unlikely it was any person or body outside the building. It was next to impossible to even hear traffic outside.

All claims aside, we couldn't capture any audio or video evidence. We have concluded the place, at least during that investigation, to not be haunted. The family is resting much easier now that they have some answers and other perspective on the matter.
